What Are Some Obstacles You Might Face?
On the journey towards Self-Acceptance, you might face some obstacles.
One common obstacle is negative self -talk. This is when the little voice inside your head tells you that you're not good enough, that people won't accept you unless you change this or that, or that nobody loves or cares about you because of who you are.
Negative self-talk can be very harmful because can prevent us from seeing ourselves clearly. It's important to recognize when negative self-talk rears its ugly head so that you can counter it with positive affirmations and gratitude journaling.
Additionally, you might begin comparing yourself unfavorably with others. Remember to remind yourself that everyone is unique and has their own strengths and opportunities for improvement. Comparison only leads to feelings of inadequacy, so do your best to avoid it, AT ALL COSTS.
Lastly, you may face criticism from others during your journey towards unconditional Self-Acceptance. People may try to convince you that you need to change in order to be accepted, but just remember that their opinion of you does not matter! Your opinion of you is what truly matters. What matters is how you feel about yourself!
The journey towards Unconditional Self-Acceptance can be difficult at first, but it is definitely worth the effort!
